Mindy and Marie founded Jamaica Plain Porchfest in 2014. This festival struck a chord, with 7,000 attendees just in the first year. It has grown every year since and now attracts over 10,000 attendees each year.
Given the success of Porchfest, they began to get calls from organizations like the Massachusetts Convention Center and The Boston Foundation to produce music events. They discovered that their mission – to bring people together across the divides of race, class, culture and immigrant status through the arts – was something that could infuse their other work.
